Can I see the actual ad creative?
Yes. Every major ad network now has a public transparency tool. Meta shows the image/video and copy. Google shows the ad text. TikTok shows the video.
Is this legal?
100%. These are public libraries the ad platforms maintain by law (EU/US transparency rules). You're just using the search UI faster.
What if they have no ads showing?
Then they aren't running ads on that network right now. That's a gap you can exploit by running your own ads there.
Why do I care what competitors are doing?
Three reasons. Know where they're spending (so you either compete there or go somewhere else), see what copy they use (steal the good ideas), spot gaps (networks they ignore).
How often should I check?
Monthly. Competitors rotate creative every 2-6 weeks. A monthly peek keeps you current.
